New Pike

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If it's orange, that would be my guess yes ... or rather, the wallacii from rio atabapo, colombia ... we aren't 100% sure it really is the true wallacii, but it looks/acts enough like it. I have 4 - 2 males and two females ... think I have a female pic, don't pay attention to the pic addy - renaming them would kill the already posted links.

Can sort of see the orange, but it's hard to catch a pic of them flaring.

Darth once again proves his superiority when it comes to the dwarves! HA!! Awesomely done mate!!

Gorgeous little pike ya got there!! I'm glad they are starting to become more prominant in the hobby! :D

Colombian wallacii would be my best guess given the pics and description, but without seeing it in person it is deffinately hard to say. Dwarves aren't as bad as sax types, but can be close sometimes. :grinno:

Heh Peanut, can't very well specialize in the big boys ...

And trying to ID sax types gives me headaches!!

I think IDing the larger pikes for the most part is a snap, they have tell tale characteristics that make it a little easier.

Saxatilis on the other hand, I will definitely not argue with you there on the Saxatilis pikes...gotta take your time with them!

Just going to leave the dwarves to you. Learning much am I though. . . ;)

I've read they can get as large as regani, ie 6" for males but I've never seen a noto, regani, or wallacii ever that big. But this is the first time I've had wallacii, and since the colombian ones might be a differant species, it might be hard to say. Mine deffinately haven't grown at all though, despite all the goodies they get. My largest male and female are both about 3.5" SL, the smaller male and female are only about 2" SL.
