I have a blank slate as of now... sounds like a good idea!
Take a container (the bigger the better, you can use a stock tank)

Add sand and heavy clay halfway up or so, make sure part of the clay is always above water, then install a pump on a timer to create a tidal system, when at its lowest point there should be a little water in the filter, at its highest there should still be a little land, put a mix of native fiddlers and mangroves in.

You may need to add fertilizer spikes (like for pond lilies) after a couple months or so

That wouldn’t be the sole filtration would it ?
