New Pool Pond!

Hey I just moved to a new house down in Florida and i love right on the intercostals. I am getting an above ground pool that is 1,800 gallons(https://www.amazon.com/Bestway-Stee...gle+pool&qid=1535845757&sr=8-4&ref=mp_s_a_1_4) I could either pump brackish water from the intercoastal into the pond or do freshwater. Need stocking help and filter ideas!!

Use water from the inter coastal , you could also do a mangrove filter

I have a blank slate as of now... sounds like a good idea!

Take a container (the bigger the better, you can use a stock tank)

Add sand and heavy clay halfway up or so, make sure part of the clay is always above water, then install a pump on a timer to create a tidal system, when at its lowest point there should be a little water in the filter, at its highest there should still be a little land, put a mix of native fiddlers and mangroves in.

You may need to add fertilizer spikes (like for pond lilies) after a couple months or so

Nah, run a pump thru a trash can,fill the trash can with pillows stuffed with lava rocks, or oyster shell
