New Pumpkinseed has black spots

This does sound like one of the multistage helminth (flatworm) that encyst just under the skin. They seldom seriously damage the host and don't generally infect other fish in a captive environment.
There is no posted cure that I can find but you might try the antiparasite medicated food made by jungle. The problem is thatthe parasite is not accessible to topical meds as it is sealed under the skin.
I have treated some young flounders that were lightly infected with a similar parasite by using the tip of a hypodermic needle to punture each cyst and cut through the body of the worm. This was possible only because each flounder only had a few cysts. After being killed the worms slowly dissovled awat though they did leave behind a bit of discoloration.

Guppy, that is exactly what I did last week, there were 3 of the black spots which had not responded to any of the meds that I had tried. I lanced each of the spots with a needle, 2 days later they were gone and had not returned. I will contine to monitor but hopefully that did the trick.

It is a bit stressfull on the fish, and labor intensive if there are a lot of them, but it seems to work. I do suggest a hypodermic needle rather than a sewing needle as the are much sharper, try any grange store to fithem.

Some lakes here in WI have fish that are "peppered". I'll tell ya they still eat good!!!! I dont think you really have to worry about anything.

Any other ideas other than poping it with a needle?!
There has to be SOMETHING for internal parasites....
Food?

They're not internal parasites, they're technically external parasites, they just burrow deeply into the skin.
Internal parasites are in the instestines and stomach, so that type of medicine wouldn't work on these.

I really does not harm the fish, can't be spread directly and goes away. Why on earth do you want to subject a fish to medication?

Because medication cannot do any harm unless overdosed to supreme amounts.
I noticed the black spots are starting to disapear after raising the temp to 85 degrees F.
I saw a worm floating the to bottom of the tank and I was about to suck it up but a tetra ate it first...

That's not quite true. Most medication is like chemotherapy. A shotgun approach that basically harms the fish but usually harms the source of the problem just a bit more than the fish. You should keep your fingers crossed every time you use meds.

No. Just no. How do you get ride of parasites without medication?
