LOL you couldn't fool NIC could you HAHA

Nice setup BTW, would love to see finished product.

LOL Nope. Wasn't intending to. How could I? As soon as I get to talking about Hystrix, anyone would know who I am

Hopefully I will get the liner and the insulation done today.
Should have more pictures by the end of the night.

if you did the walls the other way with 2x4s it would be stronger and allow for more and better insulation.... me i would never frame anything that way that will hold static preasure... 24" deep isnt alot of preasure but enough for me...

lol you f--ker, lol. I got a random friend request by someone named "hystrix" and I didn't know who it was, ha. Should have known! I recognized the pic of the tank. VERY awesome! :)

Thanks for the advice Nic. We welded quarter inch steel to fit around the top and the bottom as well as quarter inch angle-iron for the corners.

I had a very similar pond for several years.

Please be prepared.....you will end up with a hole in your liner and water on the floor. The rays either chew threw it (at the seams in the corners) or a spine gets shoved through it. I had to replace the liner every two years.

Hey Colin,

I actually have put the construction on hold for a few days. I don't want to come home to a flood one day so I am trying to think of a way to prevent this.

I was thinking either double line the pond with a pond liner on the bottom, and a pool liner on top of that.

Idk, we will see. I will think of something.

Woah that's cool, How long does it take to build ponds like these? I'm guessing a few weeks to a month, maybe? Anyways, looks awesome. Just an idea, add like porthole/windows to the side. I always wondered why people don't add windows on the side of their indoor ponds, maybe it's just a preferential thing, IDK lol.

You could do a double liner and put a bulkhead in the bottom liner and have that bulk head divert any water that is leaking to somewhere else insted of the floor. Such as a sump pump or even a bucket. Just an idea
