get the rays to eat first than medicate.give those rays some earthworms/nightcrawlers for a week 3-4 times a day you can easily target feed them with big worms.worms will make them pack on weight.you can probably go to walmart or bass pro and buy some bait from the fishing section.blackworms are a waste if the rays are small chop the earth worms in half

i had no luck with the worms i tried red wigglers bait worms and night crawlers cut in all different ways but they just didnt seem to work till i started using seachem entice and garlic guard. that was also the same time i put in the prazi

yea they only ate blood worms till i got my black worms in there and now thats what they mainly go for. they might not fatten them up quick but at least they are eating something.

It'll fatten them up fast, don't worry about it. If they're chowing down on the blackworms, after a couple feedings, they'll start putting on some bulk. When you get to that point, try and see how fast they lose their j-lo booty. If its gone too fast, you might have a problem with internal parasites.

thats good to no. i also have plenty of prazi if it does seem like there are parasites. whats about normal weight gain for a healthy ray with no parasites?

well this morning they are still alive:)...the one that was better off to start has keeped the lead...it covers itself in sand with ease...the other one donesn't cover itself completely, but is still wondering around the tank with less frequint disc raises...i tried blood worms last night with no luck...i have angel worms as i feed them to other fish that i have so i will try them again, then after the store opens i will bet black worms and try them...their breathing has slowed some, not much but some...

also, as for my exp. with tdf it wasn't bad...i expected worse, but the rays are not skin and bones and i have seen alot worse off rays in some stores....i usually don't buy fish with shipping cause i can't see the fish i am getting...i just had the money set aside for a motoro and it was sold on me so i saw these and i like how retics look...i had planned on getting some anyway so i ordered...wish i had a female, but since they are from the same place at the same time chances are pritty good that they are related so it is not all bad that i got 2 males....cause not i get to buy 3+ females with out the wife freaking out on me:naughty:....she wants me to have my fish bussness, but doesn't want me to buy fish...just sell what i have now:screwy:

I know what your are going through being a first time ray keeper. The first couple of days they were in their tank, every time they lifted their disc to move, I thought they were curling.

I did the drip method as well as I failed to see the other thread in time. My female shed a little slime coat in the process, but its been two months now and everything seems fine.

Right now my biggest concern with her is the outside of her disc is faded in spots, but I think this might be from the male biting her as I see him on her quite a bit.
