I personally think that the 'PK Kamfa' name creation is a baaad idea. The Petsmart Kamfa comes with all qualities, most them are low grade, Some of them are good, and quite a few are high qualities. There are other breeders, and importers breed Kamfa with similar quality, and no one can draw an exact picture of their future Kamfa because they are hybrid, if for some reason their Kamfa show up in the MFK picture lounge and being rated as PK Kamfa, it will be heart breaking in their breeding efforts. If you are going to breed, or keep Kamfa, but might run into a chance that being called a PK Kamfa hobylist, or to be exact, everyone thinks that you bought your belove Kamfa from Petsmart, would you still insist to do so? I can kind of predicting the elimination of Kamfa in flowerhorn love.
 
supposedly it's a red tex,but it's prob a kamfa tex mix,or texas flowerhorn.A red tex is a hybrid either bred w/parrot or red devil,therefore a red tex is not a flowerhorn.so texas flowerhorn is PROBABLY the right name.
 
That new pickup is a Kamfa, there is Texas in it just like the rest within the strain but its not a Red Texas. It has nice red in the fins, its stressed but I can see subtle silk pearling on the body.
 
oh yeah,I almost forgot- Cheah Yoke Tong is credited w/inventing the flowerhorn.He is like a national hero in malaysia.He originally bred red devil w/parrotfish in 95.eventually developing the flowerhorn around '98,so the story goes.

Really? I thought I heard he is credited with making the first kamfas, but its been a while since I read about FHs

I read it in an actual book about flowerhorn origins,entitled "The Origin Of Hua Luo Han".

Mine is about 3 months old now and he is mean and has a greener greyer color with red fins.
