lesson learned-a lot of people have an opinion whether right or wrong.opinions are easy, but factual based questions are harder.someone here knows, besides me,I hope.lol

who invented the flowerhorn?
when?
where?

I used to think you guys knew everything about flowerhorns.y'all seemed to have all the answers and I looked up to you,(water)that was my bad.people always seem wrong if given too much credit to begin with.My questions are fair and not that hard though.A flowerhorn enthusiast should know the answer to at least one of these ?.I want to give everyone a chance to have their say.straight up-who knows the answers?

This thread amuses me. Btw, Many claim to have invented FH's.. there isn't just one person. When? 20-30 decades ago. Where? Asia.

Good luck with your fish. You can help yourself from now on.

Why would you ask a question on here if you're not gonna listen to the answers? And then write people off and say that you can't trust them? Well in the end all we can do is offer our wisdom, if you don't listen then alrighty then, but don't diss people when they offer their wisdom. If you don't want to listen to us, leave the forum, you don't want our opinions so why are you even here? There is no way to verify if any evidence that any of us present is 'real', or if any of our experiences is 'real', so it's just as easy to write us off. If you don't want to listen to us, then you simply won't, regardless of what we say.

So yes, as above. Good luck.

I did listen to everyones answers and did not really think they all seemed right, especially when someone tells me they can i.d. a hybrid to the point of which farm it came from without a doubt. So I ask other questions and got NO real answer.......and I didn't write anyone off, just asked more questions.still no answer, and now you write me off, just like you accuse me of doing to you.so funny

oh and water....I'm pretty sure no one had flowerhorns 20-30 decades ago.ummm and Malaysia would be the correct answer

Like I said before, help yourself. Do your own research. Don't post threads on here if you can't find ANYONE on here credible.

Any non enthusiast can answer these questions with google. I take my knowledge from first hand exp, making the quieries irrelivant. Imo even if the older red pearly guy is of rt decent I would not consider it a true rt unless it fit a strict physical critiria. With hybrids physical look and genetics lead to the end product, many offspring of same genetics will not have the desired physical traits. Personally I would exclude a fish with a flowerline from being a rt. But it is still a nice looker..... I had one simular and lost all red color as it matured, not insinuating that yours will.

Should I explain it to you like a child, will that help you comprehend what I am saying? Lets say your neighbor Mr Segrest has a farm, and on that farm he grows a special vegetable (yes icky vegetable) that only he grows and that no other farm grows. All the local food stores like Pete's Mart and Mom and Pop's Grocery buy that special vegetable that Mr Segrests grows. That vegetable that Mr Segrest sells to the local food stores is a unique kind of cabbage. But what Mr Segrest doesn't know is that special cabbage he grows is actually a special lettuce. So all the local food stores like Pete's Mart sell that lettuce as cabbage because they don't know any better. Is that dumbed down enough for you?

This strain of Kamfa isn't your typical strain of Kamfa, its unique and easily identifiable. I has only been known to come from stores that are supplied from Segrest Farms and Petsmart is one of the largest chain of stores that will carry them. Regardless if you bought the fish from Petsmart or a local store supplied by Segrest its the same damn strain. Its not like more than one wholesale has this strain of Flowerhorn, ONLY SEGRESTS HAS BEEN KNOWN TO CARRY THIS STRAIN. Thats how I am able to know where it comes from without a doubt.

So there you have it the first fish you posted in the video is a type of Kamfa Flowerhorn that we have dubbed PK Flowerhorn because it doesn't have a real name to the strain. As for the second fish you posted, its an unfaded Red Texas. Call them both what ever the hell you want to call them, I nor anyone else care.

If don't want our help then don't ask, because will be glad to not help you. But then again you know everything about Flowerhorn and can help yourself.
