You might want to look into other worms fed to reptiles. There are many types that would be good such as wax worms, silk worms, and the occasional super worm. The super worms are like mean meal worms just larger and normally last a lot longer.

A good website to order these in bulk is Armstrong Cricket Ranch. Sorry don't know the exact web address but that is the place for all types of creepie-crawlies.

I didn't know mealworms were meant to be high in fat. I've started to feed my fish spirulina-loaded mealworms and they love it. It's mademy jardini go dark and pink. My bichirs and pbass dig the mealworms too.

do you think the background will be a problem being black or ill it be ok.

black is fine... gives a better effect in contrast with the gold.

Too light a background color and the color will be faded.

they are... at one point of time it was highly suspected a worm diet was the main cause of drop eye due to the fat in the worm.

if you don't skim the water in your tank and feed worms you will notice a thin layer of oil on the surface.

a varied diet is always good for any fish. But i would go easy on the worms.

perfection is up to the owner. If u feel your aro is perfect then it is.

u dont make an underwater light. Its sold in aquariums.

do you have concrete proof that meal worms are to fatty they are fatty but its inscect fat which is alot better than the fat in beef heart or even the fat in pellets who knows what kind of fat that is

as for the spiralina i have been reading lots of stuff on arofanatics and aro club about how its helping with the crossing on xbacks and shine also if you say spiralina only helps with the red on the fish surly with a red tail gold dixon would want to bring out the red in its tail

you may want to check out the Ocean free brand of lights... If u can get it there tt is.

for a 38 year old you are not acting much like an adult.

You are not talking about a human, but a fish, u can compare whatever type of fat u wish. But one thing still remains the same, an excess of anything is bad.

spirulina helps in crossing? From who did u hear this from care to quote? Spirulina is a color enhancer, it plays no part in the crossing of arowanas. If that was the case then why are there aros that do not cross?

And are you telling DiXon to enhance the color of the finnage at the sacrifice of the gold color of the aro which is the most important for a GOLD arowana? Its like missing the forest for the trees.

One thing I will say - I've seen T1's xback in person and it's a stunning fish. Beautiful colours all over, and it's fed mainly mealworms.
