I've now decided that i'm getting a moonlight setting when if i get a new tank.

How does it work any way do you have to get a certain light as well that has it built in, or can you have a another light and you just plugin the moonlight in as an additional light?

They are awesome hey. Pics don't do it justice because of the dark lighting. You can see a lot in the tank with them in person.

It's possible to buy it as a separate unit as well as built in with ordinary lights - you've just got to shop around. My lights consist of three separate moonlight units, and two separate normal lighting units.

Hi all,


I bought a female bichir yesterday ($550 (US$570) - gotta love Australian prices). I'm hoping to breed her with the male I already had.


She is a stunning specimen. Here are some pics (apologies for the bad picture quality - I still don't know how to use my DSLR properly and the lighting was bad.
