New Senegal Aquarium - waiting on fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Normal swimming around. That lump is a wound most likely from getting netted. It will heal but will be the same color. Mine got injured when it got netted and it took a few weeks to heal.

Thanks guys. Feeling a lot more relieved.

How many senegals could I put in my tank? At the moment I have 1 adult Senegal, 9 medium sizes Congo tetras, 1 African butterfly fish, 1 elephant nose and 1 brown African knife fish on the way. I want to put it at least one female.

I'm running 2x eheim 2215 filters.

Seems like there are too many bottom dwellers as it is. For each level I like to keep max length of each fish equal or less than half of the tank length. For your tank I would say elephant nose=12in senegal bichir=12in african brown knife=10in so 12+12+10=34. I would consider that too many bottom, but since they are not particularly aggressive there shouldn't be a problem, but I wouldn't push my luck with another bichir.

That's just my personal stocking preferences(the reason there are so many"I"s in the post) . I like to try to lightly stock to make it easier on myself, but I'm sure he could get away with it.
And of course the OP can always upgrade!!!
