The guy who died from "the monitor bite" actually died from a heart attack. He was locked in his house, for days, with free roaming monitors and they took the opprotunity to feed off him...just like any pet cat or dog would do, in the same situation.

The woman with the Monocled Cobra did not have it free roaming, in her house. She was in the process of moving and was packing her animals up. During packing them up, she was bitten. I'm not condoning her actions, as she was keeping venomous illegally, therefore it was her own fault. If the hospital would've been aware of the circumstances and knew what had bitten her, she could've been successfully been treated with anti-venom and most likely, would've survived.

The people with the big cats...well, I don't have much to say about that. If I had the room and the financial means to keep them, I'd have them too. I'm the type of person that understands the consequences though and realizes there's a very significant chance that I could be killed.

F Animal Planet. I joined a group, boycotting them.

It's only about scare tactics and media propaganda.

So you guys complain about the sensationalism yet you still watch the show? How ironic. I think AP made these kind of shows specifically for you guys because they know you will watch them.

I already mentioned ratings which is what television programs live or die on.Some viewers like these types of shows and some don't but the channel will show what brings them the numbers.

you know, more and more im thinking u are a freakin troll

i never saw the show but sounds like a bunch of sensationalism done by retards with no actuall knowledge.

Yah, I saw it on last night, but didn't watch. It's all sensationalism. They talk about how horrible it is these animals attacked and killed their owners, then they gloss over the fact that they were all irresponsible keepers in the first place, who did something stupid to cause the problem.

The River Monster's show is the same way. They spend the whole show talking about the horrible reputations these fish have, hyping them up and just confirming everyone's "worst fears", then spend about 30 seconds at the end of the show saying, "you know, they're really not that bad".

Its all about the ratings...

I don't own a TV, I don't watch it.

I've been pretty amazed at some of the stuff animal planet says.
I distinctly remember them referring to a basilisk as an amphibian.

I haven't even had cable TV for about two years now. I do own TV's, but I just use them for video games and movies.

I was getting so pissed watching that show I almost through my tv out the window!
Even worse was the killer aliens show that came on after that. The best was when the started going on about the wild bores in florida and how they are escaped pigs from farms. So lets ban all the domestic pigs too. What a bunch of crap!
