I tried crickets again yesterday and he ate one, chewed it up for about 30 seconds and just as I thought he swallowed it, he spit it back out and wouldn't go for anymore.

Yes, I just saw this thread for the first time today, and wow does it make me want to get an aro. I can't get one right now due to tank size limitations (125g), but hopefully in the future.

My Aro is growing fast and actually eating flakes now. I tried pellets but he spit them out, they probably too big for him though. Currently feeding on Tilapia and flakes.

You're gonna want to try and take it off flakes eventually.

Yeah, I put them in for the other fish and he just eats them. I tried giving him a few pellets and he took one and spit it out. It seems like he only likes softer food.
