I had it in the 10 gallon for a brief period of time before moving it to the 55 gallon on Monday (after I moved the other three fish elsewhere), but it doesn't matter any more since the arowana died earlier today...
it goes with your catfish its gonna become dinner dude. and right now wow you ned one hugeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee tank if u plan on keping all thos fish for any amount of time
I went though 4 arowanas befor I got is right and I have 300 tank, I put in a simple auto water change I made my self and only fed arowana sticks form the start no live food. sometims it the fish, but mostly I belive it's keeping the water conditions right an auto changer is easy to do there are stickes here on making them

please stop giving bad advice. You have very little to no experience in the matter.
I think that I'm going to wait until the summer before I even consider getting another silver arowana. This time around, I'll get one that is much bigger than the last one (hopefully 10" or larger), and then I'll put it in the aquarium that I'm going to be building for my SAL. Correct me if I'm wrong, but larger arowanas are much easier to take care of than the little ones right (provided that one has the space)?
I eventually want to have a South American themed aquarium, so I'm going to make sure that I'll have room for the SAL and arowana plus a few other SA fish in the aquarium that will be made over the summer.

Not exactly sure how it died. My guess is that it jumped and hurt itself last night because it was swimming and eating the day before, then was laying on the bottom and having trouble swimming this morning, and was dead later in the day.
