new speakers and amp

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Del, I assume you have 2 10" subs. Don't wire them parallel if you're bridging the amp (amp will overheat) . If you wire them in series (with the amp bridged) you're cutting your power in half (in theory).

2 8 ohm subs or 2 2 ohm subs would have been a perfect match.

Should be a nice clean starter system. It will be enough to make your ears tickle a bit in a truck. I would deffinatly go with a sealed box though. Even though you lose a bit of sound with something like that the quality of the sound you get is so worth it. Its in a truck so its going to be pretty loud no matter what you do. That amp will power them fine. I am assuming your not looking for like earth shattering bass? I think you are going to be really happy with what you have.

whats bridging?

im not the one who's gunna install it. but after he's done ill take pics to show you the set-up.

im enlisting you for help levi (and the rest of you that know your stuff) :)

hit me up on IM tomorrow. There is much more to an enclosure than throwing a speaker in a wooden or fiberglass box. When you bridge the amp you're combining the 2 channels into 1. Unfortunately, your sub(S) and amp aren't a good match for maximum power. Clipping will kill a speaker just as quickly as over-powering a sub, so you need to be careful. I'll help you out if you want to send me a message sometime.
