New Spotted Gar!!!!

.Here's a few in-tank pics. I dropped a chunk of shrimp in just to see what he'd do, and he grabbed it. He chomped on it for about 5 minutes before he realized it was just a little too big to swallow, and then he spit it out

I'm gonna pick up some rosies for him tomorrow, but will try the shrimp again, in a smaller piece, before I drop any feeders in. If he'll take shrimp, I'd really like to have him get used to it before I start dumping in feeders.

great to see the gar is doing well conner! he should grow well for you, and will eventually start showing more of the sub-adult pattern in a couple months. looking forward to continued updates!--

great looking pick up! should be interesting to watch grow. this's sort of the first batch out right? solomon what can we expect to be different about this compared to florida gars? arent trop gars relatively easy to aquire over there?
I don't have any new pics right now, cuz I've been too busy building a deck to take any. But the little gar is doing great! I was going to take my time and try and get him eating krill and shrimp, but I've been so busy I couldn't. I ended up just dumping in a bunch of rosies, and he's been eating like a champ. He's got a fat belly every time I walk by the tank. I'll take some pics when I get home for you guys.
