I built a top out of 2" styro and cut a couple of glass windows in it to let the light through. That helped bring my temp up to 81 degrees without any problem.

Also, I added a young motoro ray from turkeyboy85 last night. Fed her market shrimp today and she ate it right up.

I'll try to get a few pics tonight.

just curious was the 2x4 necassary on the joint where the 2x12 and 2x6 are? would you think it would bow without it?

When you put the top trim on do you screw through the liner? If not how do you attach it?

Keepinfish - it is a 1x3...just put it on as a precaution, but do not think it is necessary.

Polish - Yes, I screwed through the liner.

cool, cause i was going to build one and wanted to skin it with wood floors i have left over, and that would get in the way.

Thanks, that is what it looked like but I wasn't sure if that affected the integrity of the liner at all so I wanted to check as I am in the planning process of my own pond build.
