I see you recommend it but is it required? I have gravel substrate and i heard they are burrowers are they compatible with my tank? My lfs has them in a gravel tank so i assume its ok but let me know if it isnt.

Am i overstocked with this list of fish in a heavily planted 100gal aquarium 48"L X 19"W X 24"H with no injected co2 but tons of fertz and excel daily?
3 angelfish (P. Scalare)
2 bristolnose pleco
3 molly (livebearers)
5 rainbowfish (preferably Boesemans)
8 rummy-nose tetra
3 upside-down catfish (synodontis nigriventris)
3 german ram
8 corydoras (Possibly sterbai or banded, unsure, size of shoal depends on max size but likely around 8)
3 oto catfish (zebra or golden)
3 hillstream loach
3 kuhli loach (striped)
3 african dwarf frog (natural colors)
5 common hatchetfish

I don't think ur overstocked for a 100 gal, but I'd suggest u'd get at least 5 angels, they do much better in groups, not to mention that the weakest of the 3 will probably die from constant picking at by the other 2.

Wow im not getting any replies here... will kuhli loaches be ok in gravel substrate tank?

Yes they need sand, cuz they primarily feed by sifting sand. They might be ok with some smaller softer gravel but will definitelly do better with sand
