new stringrays

i got this guy a week back .but dont know what it is .can you guys tell me what type is it?.this is my first stingray

lol why? is it bad?the stringray is in a comunity tank with a fl gar ,albino birch .arowana ,and the pleco haha

Any bottom dwellers are usually harassed or harassing the Stingray. Plecos are notorious for sucking the slime coats off fish if they aren't fed well.

yep. the only fish, so far, that i trust with rays are birch...IME.

hehe i will keep an eye on them.so when the tank is out of algee the pleco will suck the ray?

The pleco will suck the ray regardless, the only good algae eater is a flag tail, or a bristle nose. IMO.

flag tail (prochilodus), are the best and great appearance!! i would chuck the 5 dollar pleco imo. nice ray though... enjoy!!

I can see the hip bones, make sure you power feed for the next week or 2.
