New tank 84x36x24 ... Time for a Stand build!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I run the hy-drive 4800 as my main pump on my 750g. Its quiet and seems to do the job well. It's been running for one and half years so far

rest the tank on 3/4" plywood only (no screws in the plywood - leave it loose)
the plwyood plies will normaly crush and level off when you fill the tank, it's meant to ..

Hmm...anyone else around here screwed down their plywood, or is this advise accepted by everyone? Just built a stand for my 6x4 and did screw down the top plywood. Only 6 screws so could be easily removed. They are recessed.

Please forgive me for jackin your thread, but the tanks going on it in couple days.

This is to help the plywood to lay flat. Some plywood bows a bit and if you screw it down with a slight bow in it the weight of the tank will not be enough to straighten that bow out because of the screws. No screws the heavy tank will self level and flatten out the plywood. Hopefully no one responded to this yet, I'm only half way through this thread.........

Done :) great thread! I think you over built the stand! That's better than under building it  great job on the stand I love it!

Are there any pictures of this monster tank? Also, it's common for your first monster tank to actually get inside and have someone take a picture of you. I did it for my 360 lol :screwy:

I can attach pictures of my plumbing if your interested but I don't want to bore you...

Ahh! Somehow I unsubscribed from this thread, lol. Also looking at this pump

The stand isn't done but we started sanding. Eh, what can I say? We were enjoying summer. The tank is due soon though, so we need to get the stand ready to build soon soon soon. Thankfully it looks like I have a buyer for the 125 tank so I can get that thing OUT of here. LOL.
