New tank 84x36x24 ... Time for a Stand build!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Always use foam. Also it helps with insulation ad will keep the weight evenly distributed. Id definitely go taller stand though, think about the top of ur tank being 4 ft off the ground. You will want more height for working under the tank too. Mine is 4th tall and I wish I had more room to work.

well i must be one in a million, my tanks been going for 4 -5 years and its still going strong

No because the plywood isn't totally flat, and you don't want to stress acrylic so it is best to put some under the tank onto of the plywood

^^ x2, especially with the length and the width of the tank, 1 high spot will cause alot of stress on the acrylic

Put some kind of fabric over the foam then.

Okay here is his reply
Do not use styrofoam or rubber, it is a petroleum product with chemicals that will slowly eat away at the bottom panel of your tank, other customers have done this without asking and approx within 1 - 3 yrs the tank fails
Like I told you rest the tank on 3/4" plywood only (no screws in the plywood - leave it loose)
the plwyood plies will normaly crush and level off when you fill the tank, it's meant to ..

Did he also say to use marine grade plywood, and not to use any epoxy any where near the tank?
