New Tank & Baby Green Terror!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Couple of questions for Next improvements, but really happy with the tank now!

1. What’s another heater option that’s higher quality and more aesthetically pleasing?

2. I feel like the Wavemaker is too much current for the 29 gallon so what I’ve been doing is turning it on for 10 min every few days to stir things up. Would a certain power head anyone knows about or has used be a better choice? It’s also an eye sore plus more wires…thoughts?

The fluval heaters have a slick look to them.

I can’t help too much for powerheads, you may not need one for a gt though. I’m sure duanes duanes could comment on their natural flow.

Thanks! I’ll check that heater out. The sole purpose of the Wavemaker was to stir the bottom up so old food and crap gets picked up.

Quite like the look of the metal looking Fluval heaters too with their blue “on “ light, a bit different, although when you need lots the price is three times others.
As for the wave maker, if all you need is a short blast every day or so to get the crap I would be sticking it on a 24 hr timer(the ones with 15 min pins) or a digital one. Although I quite like the fluval range of in tank filters too (although prefer the old ones I have to the newer versions)

All is well! They’re growing more, especially the catfish. He’s huge! Colors coming in more as well on the GT! Happy and healthy! Literally impossible to get a good picture of the catfish though! I’ll keep trying, I bet his dorsal fin is 2” tall! AD61F3ED-A7AE-4F82-88E7-8550F75D51D3.jpegC5B0F42A-86D5-48F4-88E5-EFC72B8F8FE5.jpeg
