New Tank & Baby Green Terror!

On a separate note, you may need to keep an eye on the growth rate of the plec. Looks like a gibbiceps and they can grow pretty quick, topping out over 18”.
Your featherfin synodontis should remain friendly enough but they can get bored and chase other fish when they do. He will top out around 9-12”. Both seem good choice tank mates for GT in the long term but will grow faster than he does so your tank may depend on them rather than him.

Good to know! Unfortunately the plec died only a couple of days after I got him. Absolutely no idea why, I think he had a parasite looking back and thinking about his “poo.” After some research I went with the Synodontis catfish to clean up food on the bottom and give the GT a buddy. More interesting than a plec and more carnivorous lol! They get along great! Apparently plec’s randomly die when new much more often than I thought…..?

So yeah it’s just those two.

What’s best way to feed the cat? He really just comes out at night for the most part. I’ve just been feeding “extra” when I feed at night so he’s got stuff to eat off the bottom. NLS pellets and Hikari Vibra Bites.

is this normal? I looked back at older pictures in this thread and it seems like he’s always been like that. General is maybe? Really hoping there’s nothing wrong with him. Looking and acting good just wanting to make sure. Pics below from this morning 2CDD4967-3341-4F40-A3D6-FAE6C2EBD201.jpeg

Looks like some inflammation at the anus - possible constipation. Did it eat too much at once?

Yes, he may have. If this is the case, what should I do? Just not feed him for a couple of days? I threw a bunch of pellets in one night so the catfish could get some when he came out and I believe the GT ate them ALL! He pooped a ton the next day I noticed. So I bet he did over-eat.

Please help, I've worked so hard to get this guy thriving/healthy....really worried :-(

Feeding peas are known to help with constipation. You can try that. Otherwise I would give it time and see if it can work itself out.
