Ok i was going to build a glass tank but have decided to go for the plywood tank im just starting so im sure it will take a while to get it done. The biggest issue is the money and time but ill get there piece by piece. Its going to be 72X30X30 planning on fresh water but im looking for a 55gl for the wet dry filter under the tank. should be sweet when im done im really looking forward to it. Does anyone have any ideas as what to stock ??? I dont want just one fish and i know fresh water dosent give me much as for bright color fish but i dont want 50 tiney fish eather. so i guess what im asking is there any mid size bright color fish 10-24" that can get along and i wouldnt mind some a little smaller as well dont get me wrong i love the giants but due to size of the tank and space i cant do that right now and dont want to over crowd i want healthy happy fish. any info would be helpfull thanks.

A few more braces on the bottom and its time to go up

sounds awesome man!!! uhhhg! freshwater fish are better! anyway the perfect fish for you would be stingrays, discus, arawanas. it'll be hard to beat that tank with saltwater for under 10 grand!
goodl luck, keep us posted.

Sounds great , more pictures when you can .

Stingrays , PBass , Oscars , TSN , RTC , Lima . Fish like that , i would go with something along them lines with the fish .

tiger shovel nose, red tailed cat, and lima shovelnose. IMO the only one out of those 3 suitable for that size tank is the Lima shovel nose. The other 2 will get too big eventually.

If I were you I'd browse around the central/south american cichlid section. You'll see that fresh water has tons of color to offer.

You can definitely find some fish that are right within that range and also have good coloration. CA/SAs have a lot more color than you would think.
