A few months ago, we had what my son referred to as a tankpocolypse! One of the bulkheads for a return line into the main tank started to leak, so I decided to repair it. Drained the tank and placed the fish in various coolers and a large Brute garbage can I used for water changes in the past. Took me several hours to fix the bulk head for several reasons. (Word of advice, dont overtighten the male ends into the bulkheads or you risk splitting the seam.)
Was able to install the closed loop, but decided not to go through the bottom and went over the top. The return lines are ran through 2 Squid wave makers that switch off the location of the returns.
I also added some new fish after losing and trading a few. Added a Pollenei and Saddleback Grouper, Sohal Tang, File Fish. The groupers are getting a along, the Saddleback is growing really fast compared to the Pollenei, so hope the Pollenei isn't lunch in the near future.
Really want an Epaulette Shark though. I'm trying to find a new home for my Coral Catsharks if anyone is interested in them. Just PM me. If anyone in CA has or comes across an Epaulette let me know please.
