Well I got some minimal work in today..
Painted the sides of the tank black. I ordered a 3D Background (Aquaterra), that will cover the back and two sides...I dont want the back of the background (part that silicones to glass) visible from the sides...hence the paint.
I started on the plumbing (going with the Beananimal Overflow Design), however I only worked on the start as I have to remove the tank tomorrow to finish up the stand, so I have the rest of the plumbing on standby till tomorrow.
I spent a good part of the day staining the outer Ply for the stand. This tank is in my home office, so I want it to look good. Likewise I made some adjustments 'under the hood'. Set-up location for electrical connections, as well as the UV filter.
Lastly, I started on the sump...Divided it in half with eggcrate, Laid some airline lines on the bottom, and filled with ceramic bio media, lava rock, and lastly some bio balls I had laying around. This is then covered with eggcrate with a hole cut out for the filter sock, as well as several holes for Pothos plants that will have the roots growing into the sump. I also installed the Marineland double bright LED light fixture for the said Pothos. I've had Pothos in all my sumps the last few years with great results in Nitrate control.
The Background arrives Wed, at which point I can install and get to work on aquascaping as well. That will happen on Thurs, as I work Wed. Pending at this moment are an order of Manz wood, the Reeflo Snapper/Dart Hybrid (on the way), and for me to decide what route Ill take for hood/canopy.
