New Tank Set-up...Cichla Grow out Project

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Looks really good. Just don't put a bunch of pieces of driftwood vertically in your tank, or people will feel obligated to give you a hard time about copying jcardonas discus/angel tank. Lol

Eh, they can compare to whoever...it is what it is. Jose is well aware that his tank inspired quite a few ideas for this one, with my own spin of course.

Anyhow, Sold all my cichla...This coming year is going to be tough on time, so I want to keep it to one tank, and one that is manageable for my wife when Im not home. Update -

Yeah just giving you a hard time. Lol. I actually have copied a bit off him myself in the sump category. Nice thing about this website is there's some good ideas to be found. Sorry to hear things are gonna be hard. Hopefully things won't stay that way for long.

Very nicely decorated and natural. No cichla?:(

Sold them all...got some nice shots before selling them. The next year will be tight but for good reasons, so not complaining :)

So you had nice fish but no tank, and now you have nice tank and no fish!

May I make a suggestion? First this tank is awesome! Nice job! Second. I would pull the LED's closer together so the ends are dark, that will help make the overflow box less obvious and give a really nice effect to the tank. I do this on almost every tank I have, it adds a very natural feel to it. This is my 300 gallon with the same principle I described to give you an idea of what I am talking about (not a derail, just an example).

No had several tanks....that was part of the problem lol As for the lighting, I like the idea but I have the bulk of the plants on the sides of the tank... :/
