New tire track eel

I feed mine on shrimp meat/eggs, artemia and bloodworms. They are aprox. 40 cm long right now. Werry fat and healthy. Beutiful look`n fishes! I can even hand feed them. The best way to develope this trust is raising them in a small aqarium at the start. If you do that, and constantly hand feed them there, they wil come up easyer when they get bigger (:))

My larger Tire track eats any kind of food I put in, my smaller one eats anything in my hand. The little guy tried to eat my finger the other day, I had just feed my Fire eel a worm so my finger still smelled like a worm.

Wow, that is one thick eel. Do you have agression problems keeping him with another tiretrack? I have mine in with a larger fire eel and an M. dayi and "smackdowns" occur occasionally (nothing serious yet).

Also, all three of my eels went straight from the LFS to my 120, and all were hand feeding within a week or two. I start by feeding live blood worms from a clear plastic turkey baster, which the fish never seem to be afraid of. I'll drop the worms right in front of where the eel is hiding, and then work on luring them out. After a few more days they'll take the food staight from my hand.

I don't doubt that a smaller tank would make it easier, though. In fact, my 120 IS pretty small compared to many setups on this board.

my tiretrack only eats blood worms, black worms, and small earthworms. He wont even touch shrimp
