new to bichirs new some help

If my Bichir was doing my taxes I think I'd be ecstatic...as long as he were good at it...

When my sen's were younger/new they were all over the tank. They still do a good bit of swimming at all levels of the tank, but they generally feed at the bottom.

Just be consistent with your feeding routine. Hikari carnivore pellets are a great way to go, although some people do have trouble getting their poly's to eat pellets (I never had that problem, pretty sure mine are farm or at least tank raised).

its not hard to feed sens, they will eat just about anything you prepare for them. I like to watch mine eating floating pellets.

my only prob it that my tax eats everything with the quickness lol but i just saw him eat a shrimp pellet like 5 mins ago

is it a good idea for me to put some floting pellets in at night when all lights are off and what live food is good for him know

I occasionally grab a handful of guppies & glowlight tetras when petsmart has them for 1$ each. Ghost shrimp seem to disappear quickly, although I'm not sure if thats my JD or the bichirs...I'll have to get another batch of them sometime soon now that I have the tanks split up.

Just be patient with letting him figure out how to get food out of your feeding process. Obviously you have to make it available, they just have to figure out how to get it before everyone else does etc etc. They can go for quite a long time without food, so don't worry about starving it to death while you get the kinks hammers out.

:Dthanks man i was worried i m having a hard time with it but ill take your word on it

I swear by "hakari marine A" for young polypterus. Great food if pricy. Great for a lot of small preds really. And not at all messy.

ima go to the store pick some up right know hes eating shrimp pellets and cichlid sinking hakari

whats a good fish i can put in der to clean up the bits of food that stay
