I went to the lfs yesterday ammonia basically perfect, nitrate levels just a tad high should be good by Monday but most likely a week they said. I'm having him hold the fish till all my parameters are perfect.
Haha yeah I figured so, needed something to help the tank and I figured they'd get munched down. I bought a bundle of 50 bamboo 5 stalks wrapped hopefully the ghost shrimp can try to survive in there as long as possible hahhaa. Honestly his kok and red base and gold pearls sold me. The pattern on his kok compared to the other ones I was checking out wasn't even close.
Without a doubt, my biggest concern was spending too much money on a fish of lower quality. He was supposed to send me the invoice last night so hopefully this is the one.
Just make sure you acclimate him correctly when you get him. I’m sure your water is fine, fh are very hardly fish. I’ve set up tank overnight with no problem using benificial bacteria from another tank through filter media. Here’s a link to a site with good step to acclimating. https://m.liveaquaria.com/article/157/?aid=157
Thanks for the information. I'm familiar with acclimation i'm just new to flower horn. usually just do the bag float method. I got cz high active minerals and cz deworm with him. This is the food I ordered so far hikari blood parrot, freeze dried silkworm pupae, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N2GOMBA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I'm going to get some frozen krill from the asian market and probably some frozen bloodworms. Tank is pretty much complete, have two more rocks to setup for the sponge filters in the corner, going to get a center piece https://www.amazon.com/Buddha-Statue-Aquarium-Ornament-Goddess/dp/B011FX0HDU. and I either need to seal the background or get blue plastidip and spray the back. the gravel is a light red color. and i have 4 color max fluorescent bulbs coming in as well.
Well I paid for the fish and it shipped out Wednesday on next day delivery and USPS never sent it out of the Sacramento sorting facility.. My fish is still there and I had to do a complete run around to get a hold of someone and get a case opened. he opened two cases, one for live animal and a regular one.. I was supposed to get a call back by the end of the day but I didn't get a call. At this point I'm hoping for the best but it doesn't seem like things are going to turn out positively. I hate usps for this exact reason..
I bought it from the owner of flowerhornsupply.com he's based in california so it was shipped from there, went to the sorting facility where it says it departed at 1 am last night but upon further investigation the fish was not sent out and at this point I'm really not sure the condition of the fish or even if they know where he is.. it's been 24 hours and from what i hear they usually die at after 48 hours. I have read some cases of them being ok after 72 but idk how much oxygen is in the bag..
