Sweet...I am in the market for one myself in Jersey. Hes sharp!!

awesome dorsal on that guy. looks like he might be even bigger than 8"!

is he active all day or mostly just at night? all my gibbys have always been very active all day, and theres probably nothing cooler than a large sailfin "free swimming".

He's very active and very happy. I feed him an algae tablet every day at the usual feeding times. He sniffs it right out and eats it. Then he'll eat anything else that is left over from the feeding. He's incredible to watch!

I think he very well may be larger than 8". I didn't have a ruler when I measured him so I just eyeballed the length. I'll try to measure the dorsal fin for you to give you an idea. When I first bought him years ago, I had no idea he would turn out so beautifully! I'm a proud gibby-mom!

that's awesome. have you tried dropping in some fresh veggies like zucchini slices and sweet potato? mine loves zucchini and eats it almost all day long. also, i don't know what kind of algae tablets you feed but I recommend looking into NLS "H2O Stable Wafers", NLS is a really high quality food company and Petco is carrying their foods now.

I actually feed him zucchini once a week or so, too. Loves it and so do my clown loaches! I'm definitely going to look into the NLS wafers you recommend.

What size tank is it in? 8" is very small for a gibby at that age, mine is over 14" and is only about 14 months old...
