New to MFS!

I think some fish do it just because they can! My livebearers that I keep for my mother like to eat food then spit it out. But I guess that means enough falls to the bottom for the cories.
What kind of tank setups do you have running right now?
 
At the moment two 10g, one quarantine, and the other a fry tank and a 29g cichlid ''teen'' tank. And a 125g which im waiting to start up till i have money to manage and stock it.

I agree. My 100 gallon was an early birthday present from my parents...They said they'd pay for 1/3 of it, and I could pay them back for the rest. I found it on craigslist, some guy was selling the tank, stand+canopy(which isn't on there right now), filter, heaters, Coralife T-5 lighting...All for $300 :) Then my fish cost me an additional...oh, $45? But it was definitely worth it, I love my setup so much! My mom thinks I'm crazy because when I wake up, first thing I do is go turn on the fish tank light and then lay in bed and watch them until I'm forced to get up for whatever reason :)
 
@ clown knife. i currently keep cichlids, but i am looking for a more less common species to keep. thanks though!

And i can relate, i do the same thing!! i turn the lights on and watch the fish swim:) my 125 is off craigslist too, everything minus the filter was $150. im lucky my parents enjoy the fish as much as is do or else i wouldnt have gotten it! :)

Oh, are you around my age?
My mom claims to not like the fish, but after King Arthur jumped to the tank she was forced to admit that he was a bit attached to him. :) In fact, I took my 35 gallon and set it up as a tank specifically for her! She likes all the livebearers, and she actually got pretty into picking out her fish. I was so proud!
 
Yes in fact I am 16 years old! And yeah my mom is more of a cichlid person, she always wants to buy more fish when it comes to cichlids. She keeps telling me to make the 125 a Malawi Hap/Peacock tank, but i want to get some more ferocious fish to keep:)

Ferocious fish are awesome. My Oscar bit me so hard almost 48 hours ago that the cut is still red! And this is a little 5" guy.
My mom likes boring fish. :irked: I really wanted to do something really oddball/exotic in the 35 but noooo.

16! Awesome. Can you drive yet?
