hello all. i found this site via youtube carnage clips me and friends where watching. i always been fascinated by monster fish that are visually brilliant with a nice set of teeth and a visual appearance not to be towed with.

i have ended my "normal" saltwater aquarium hobby several months back and now i wanna get started on raising some new fish to fill my needs. of course this time around i think its time i get started raising some nice carnivorous fish to satisfy my tastes, i always wanted some and now FINALLY decided to give it a go, just a little. (for now)

i have a 29gal 10 year old tank with 2 whisper 30s+ light. i JUST sold my 75gal (saltwater) and won't be wanting anything too big for awhile, so gars wont be necessary (sadly, i love their looks).

QUESTION------->* can you guys give me some suggestions of cool **Freshwater** fish that will do fine in a 30gal tank. They gotta be "monster" enough though. you know, teeth, meat eating, anything to give me some entertainment while im at home.

not a big fan of chichlids or oscars, preferably unique teeth-filled swimmers who were born to kill.

thanks ^_^

PS: piranhas are illegal in hawaii so i cant have those =(

brilliant looking fish there! but do they bare teeth and shred prey??

aww.. after some research i learned they dont bite =(. man.

i was getting exited too.

any more fierce looking fish that stay small out there who hunt to kill?

so far i know of these;

Oscar (no teeth :(
Chichlid (dun really consider them predators :(+ they got small mouths + no teeth! ;(
*Electric eel (cool, but how to get one?
*Bichirs (more info please??!
Snakeheads (no room
*Gars (More info please!!
Knife fish (dont look fierce... prove me wrong??
*FW morays (i cant find any!!!

any other things im not aware of??? or info on the fish of my interest and if they fit in 30gal?

Freshwater Toadfish. They're Brackish water. They can get up to 12", but don't really move, so I think a 30g will probably be fine.

why not do a very large saltwater tank with naitives????

xenomystus nigri, smallest notopterid and will take down feeders with ease,

well like i said (i think. lol), i quit the saltwater hobby. i only have my 30gal left. a 55 is the max for the space i got.

plus all the native marine fish here are only good for dinner plates and grow a million feet, they don't provide excitement like exotic piranhas and stuff haha.

today i came across a rice patty eel though:eek: which is a pretty exiting find for me cause their illegal to sell but it got away X(.

Oscars are cichlids and you just havent seen the right cichlids my friend. O yeah theres not much monster going in a 29g tank.
