New to Peacock Bass

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Welcome to the world I am new also to the PB W.

lost my #3 pbass today, I went to the local store last monday and picked up another to add to my first two.

for some reason one of the first two never really liked the third bass, I think it was killed, they were all hearty, eating all the time, no signs of sickness.

was alive, fell asleep watching a movie, woke up and he was laying on the bottom, belly full but with some blood on one side :(

probly the convicts.. usually at 2 inches they arent fighting yet but more just interested in food.

one of the convicts is slightly bigger than everything else and is a bully...

dangit

stress will kill cichla when there tiny... btw they look to be monos ;)

So my Pbass are doing good, my only problem is my LFS says he can't get anymore in?!?!

I'm sure if I wait too long any new ones will get eaten by my current bass once the siz difference is too much. How big of a difference can there be in the same species of bass before the smaller ones are considered dinner?

cool baby pbass u can get them on krill pretty easy

sad to hear you keep SH's, but happy to hear your looking into 300 RM's for your tems, 6'x5'x2' roughly, very good footprint for them, i'd prefer a bit taller and longer for tems as they get real big. 30"+.

I found out they weren't tems, as Boosten Audi pointed out they are probably Monos

Don't keep SHs anymore, one jumped out of the 300 gallon (many times) and after it died the other would not eat.

this all happened years ago...
