Saw someone attach java fern with suckers and zip tie. You could try that for the background since you have a lot of height.

Yeah i might attach some bogwood to suction cups and tie on to those. Ive had success with that before. Ive been using fishing line it seems to blend in with everything pretty well. or i was still thinking i might try the valisneria in that back corner.

Bit of an update on this tank. Java ferns have been doing well, they have sprouts all over them and I'll have to redistribute them soon, most likely when i finish the other tank im building in a couple months. When thats done the other tank will become the loach tank and this one will house the growing flowerhorn whos in there now. For now, he seems to be convinced he is also a loach, playing and foraging with them amiably.
