Wow, horrible couple of days for my polys... Heard a rattle from my basement and didn't think anything of it because I had my dryer going. 15 minutes later my I hear my dog whining in the basement so I go down and find my 6" Delhezi on the ground under the stand. He looked like a total goner, eyes were glazed over, he was almost totally stiff and no noticeable breathing. Put him back in the tank just in case he was still alive (even though I was sure he wasn't) and sure enough within a few seconds his gills started going again! Then he gradually got less stiff, started moving around more, breathing got more regular. Took about an hour for the glazed eye look to go away, for a bit I thought he might be blind, but sure enough he's back to 100%, swimming around as always.
So strange that I have my first two jumpers 2 days in a row after not having any for months. I seriously don't understand how he got out. He must've jumped against the egg crate and forced it up but it was weighted down so it seemed absolutely impossible. Now the tank is covered so well it would take Jaws to get out of there.
So relieved, he's my favorite poly. Grateful for my dog right now!
