Would this be Discus Origins (Ocala Aquarium)? If so, he has a permit and will not sell within the state of FL and only ships to where they're legal. He's also a vendor on here.

Yes that's him. And no he said he'll ship to me.

Hi guys, just wanted to clear up a simple misunderstanding. I answered some inquiries on availability and pricing but didn't know the customer was in FL until now.

It's all good and the FL laws have been explained.

Don't permits for keeping illegal fish consist of strictly research purposes and studys of the fish. I think you can as well get one by being an aquarium owner. Does anyone know the specific guidlines? I was reading about this but the direction of snakeshead keeping yet we already have almost every species lurking in miami I don't see why they are illegal they are basicly native now lol.

To apply for a conditional species permit you can be an individual or business with an aquaculture license.

The state will do a physical inspection of your facilities to see if it meets the standards and requirements. If it does then the state will grant you a permit. At the end of each year you have to turn in an inventory of all conditional species imported in and where each one was sold.

There is a difference between conditional and prohibited species. In Florida, prohibited species like tiger fish, piranha, snakeheads, etc can only be possessed by public aquariums, zoos or public exhibits.
