To apply for a conditional species permit you can be an individual or business with an aquaculture license.
The state will do a physical inspection of your facilities to see if it meets the standards and requirements. If it does then the state will grant you a permit. At the end of each year you have to turn in an inventory of all conditional species imported in and where each one was sold.
There is a difference between conditional and prohibited species. In Florida, prohibited species like tiger fish, piranha, snakeheads, etc can only be possessed by public aquariums, zoos or public exhibits.
So are rays and arows on the conditional list?
