Hey, im probably going to buy this amazing orange spotted motoro from a petstore near my house, hes already hand-feeding and is really friendly. I really dont know what i all need to do in order to get ready to buy one of these guys, also, to keep my options open, does ANYONE know a good breeder or site i could maybe check out rays at? thanks so much for the help!

Well first thing... how big is ur tank, because the motoro is going to grow very fast, and it should be kept in no smaller then a 125 gallon tank for enough swimming room when he gets a lil older, make sure you have proper filtration and you will need to do frequent water changes.

a good web site is amazonstingrays and aquascapeonline is good to but other than that i agree with turkeyboy but go for it if u feel u can handle it

umm well i was thinking of starting off with like an 80, hes pretty small still. does that sound alright? and im getting really good filtration stuff, i forget what the name of the filter is, but it works great for up to 280 gallon tanks, also im getting a reverse osmosis thing for when i put water in

lol yea no problem well if he is pretty little right now an 80 could work just make sure its long, you would def need to upgrade later on though

Good luck to you man, we need to see pics if its as AMAZING as you said ;) Hahaha

I'm not much help though, Im a :newbie:

Motoro rays are great beginner rays if you have the space. an 80 (depending on dimensions) will be alright for a while, but keep in mind that these rays get big and they get big fast.

if you're prepared to eventually provide a massive (300+) gallon tank or pond with lots of filtration and oxygenation, go for it. Keep in mind that these things eat about as much as you do:D lol

oh id definately put up pics, seriously idk what it is but while all the other motoros and hystrix sit on the bottom of the tank theyre in, this one swims around, eats right out of your hand, and loves to swim around in the current the filter makes, he comes right up to the water surface of the tank and flops around in place in the current haha its so awesome
