If you want to be successful long-term, you will buy a 180g+ tank first, and get the ray second..

:iagree:

Don't underestimate the needs of rays. They need space and large water volume from the start.

Also, no need for RO water as long as you tap water is ok. It will just over complicate things when you're doing all those water changes ;)

ok, yeah see i was wondering if reverse osmosis is REALLY necessary... i think the RO machine thing was like 125 bucks, so yeah, i have a filter on my sink water, are you saying that water would be fine?

yea that water is fine just make sure you put the drops in to take the clorine and stuff out of it

Get a good set of water test kits. pH, KH, ammonia, nitrIte, nitrAte.
Get used to testing your tank water regularly. Also test your tap water.

If it's your first tank make sure you fully cycle it before you introduce any ray.
Plenty of research before you start is the key to avoiding serious problems.
The more you research, the more you'll realise how much there is to it.

Good luck.
