New Tropheus Red Bishop group

And then there was 8……..

So I miscounted the duboisi eggs I stripped earlier this week….8 from 1 & 15 from the other. Unfortunately the 8 were a few days ahead and when they became wigglers ahead of the rest, they damaged the egg membranes of the other 15. By the time I realized what was happening it was too late. All 15 now non-viable. Never tumble multiple broods together unless you know for certain they’re the same age. Lesson learned 🤦🏻‍♂️
Needless to say the other 8 are very well nourished and going strong…

Finally vented my red bishop group and moved a breeder colony to a 40B to make it easier to catch and strip the gals. Turns out I got super blessed with the group ratio, and after selling 4 additional males recently to a friend here in Cincinnati, I have 2M14F in this group. I have another 8 that were originally in the 40, definitely 2 females in that group as I have fry from them, but I put the 8 RB’s together w 7 Maswa I was growing out into the 125gal with my adult Maswa.
In the venting process 10 full free swimmers were apprehended, for a grand total of 30 or so RB fry of various sizes. Also have approx 30 Maswa fry from wigglers to about 1”.
Was a productive day. Here’s a couple vids of where things ended up….
