Things just haven't been going fast enough lately so I had to bring in a Nicaraguan pygmy to speed things up. Not really, It's just my 3 year old. We're almost finished with the rock work and we're now working on the sidewalk. The third guy is sealing the bog area with almost pure concrete.
The sidewalk is coming along nicely around the front entrance. Today the workers put more concrete supporting the rocks on the bog retaining wall. I'm sure my kids will be playing like crazy on those rocks. They also sealed the bog area with a almost pure concrete mix. Here's a beter picture of my present bog area of my pond. Its a little messy though because of the construction.
Today I came home for lunch and was able to get some more pictures of the entrance sidewalk, sealing of the bottom and some serious boulder moving. Orlando, one of the workers needed to chip out a little concrete where boulder number 6 is going. I taped and numbered the boulders so they would know where they had to go.
that makes me so jealous i am planning to do a concrete pond and i wish i could afford to do the block wall rather than just pour in concrete and smooth it up the sides. i love the steps and the curve to the walls. it is a beautiful set up and i cant wait to see it holding water. what are you using to waterproof the concrete?
I'd like you to know that you made me want to build a pond. I now have the desire to build one at least once in my life (hopefully more). It's now on that list of things i gotta do before i die list.
