Cichla - Most of these can be used as houseplants, but I do know what you mean. Here is a list of the tropicals / houseplants that would fit the bill. These are growing out, and not all of them are ready yet:
Crinum (The giant lily already listed)
Zamia / Coontie Palm / Cardboard Palm - way cool Cycad
Jatropha podagrica - Buddha's Belly - an awesome succulent
Snake Plant - Unusual light pale colored variety
Red Mangrove - good for tanks, etc.
Kalanchoe sp. Wild type - resembles blossfeldiana, but probably not.
Coconut palm
Date palm - The real thing, with real dates.
Society Garlic
Colocasia esculenta - Giant elephant ear
Monster Plant - Monstera delicosa
Green leaf Alocasia
Green/Purple leaf Alocasia
Colocasia fortunei - rare all-black plant
Xanthosoma Lime Zinger - fluorescent yellow/green plant
Coleus - bright yellow green and maroon leaf
Camellia
Flying Dragon Hardy Orange - Poncirus trifoliata cv.
Rohdea japonica - rare lily
