The lizards I mentioned shouldn't be handled because of their sensitive skin, it has nothing to do with taming them down.

All i'm saying is that responsible handling involves some type of gentle but secure grip to prevent them from jumping out of your hands and breaking themselves on the ground. If you don't like the idea, handle them while sitting on a couch or chair that will "catch" them if they fall. There is a textbook hand-set that is standard for handling lizards, and it applies to all but the largest lizards that need to be restrained to work with. If getting a few tiny little holes in your hand is the problem, wear gloves but that type of stuff never bothered me. I would be more worried about causing injury to the animal from losing a secure grip as a result of not being able to handle a little hole in my hand. It's just a Uro, dude....you're not gonna like DIE from getting a claw stuck in you
I've never once seen a skin issue with a Tokay that was caused by being handled properly. Grasping Phelsuma surely will, but allowing them to climb on you as I do with all my animals will not cause an issue.

To go to the extent of wearing gloves, simply to force an animal to interact with you or your own enjoyment baffles me. There's simply no reason for it. The comment on them putting puncture wounds into your hand is simply as a means of showing you that even the animals I've worked with for their entire lives would never tolerate that kind of handling. If you'd kept Uromastyx for any length of time, you'd realize this was the case. In the addition to the undue stress to the animal, handling for a prolonged amount of time, as would be necessary for sitting down on the couch with them will cause a drastic drop in body temperature, and compromise their ability to thermoregulate. Handling these animals is simply best done in a manner that allows them a choice. Let them climb on you, encourage it even. But don't have them out of the cage, at least not for any extended amount of time.

ok man, i'm just gonna have to have my own opinion then

The way I see, it if nothing else, there's a little gir on the 1st page holding it like a baby. The lizard doesn't look bothered by it ......and IME, kids generally are too rough when it comes to handling animals. She seems like she's doing ok
