LMAO- risk getting hit by an arapaima! You have a better chance of getting struck by lightning.

These people aren't rich man! You think they have the means to build a pond, catch a bunch of arros, feed and take care of them everyday?
Or would it be easier for them to get in a boat they already have for fishing and go net some already to go, release the parent and catch them in the next breeding season. No need to take care of fish fighting in a pond, don't need to feed them, don't have to worry about floods or predation or vandalism. No worries, except for killer flying arapaima- ROTFLMA!
You've been watching way to many River Monster shows LOL

I never said it wasn't being done, I said it is cheaper and easier to catch them in the wild. So all you have is one guy doing it? Also, how many Xanthic is this farm producing? You see them all the time right BroFong?
Show me a baby picture of a Xanthic silver arrow from one of these many man made ponds that you and K1 say are all over the place. Just show me one. Still can't and will never be able too. Until then, both of you have more to worry about like killer flying arapaima and man eating catfish LMAO.

So let me get this right they go out take all the risks catching the aro
They take the fry then throw the adults back in
Why wouldn't you catch the adults take the fry then put the adults in a holding pond
If they did this for 2 or 3 seasons they would have collected enough not to have to risk going out and risking life
Or they could just keep going out doing the same job over and over again and hope they don't get knocked out of the boat by a arapaima

I'm not smart I have even been told I have a bone head but I know what I would do
Yes, just put those adult in holding pond for 2-3 seasons, and that would be enough. Fisherman don't need to feed them, care for them, just put them in a pond, and they'll give out fry, right? Another issue, only male arowana holding fry, so all the arowana those fisherman caught to collect fry were males. Would it be a sound idea to put all males in a pond and expecting fry? Come on!

Have you read the article before you posted, bro Fong? It said Asian arowana has been protected by CITES since 2006. Does that sound right to you, bro Fong? Or does the article sounds like a bunch of poorly collected information, without fact checking, verification? Where did you find it? Gossip column?

Accordingly to Wikipedia, it says Asian arowanas are listed as endangered by the 2006 IUCN red list.
See link https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asian_arowana

So anything wrong what that statement?

They have been breeding silver in latin America as per that article. No reasons for them make up stories.

No reason for them to make up story. Really? Are you that naive, bro Fong? Do you also live under a rock like T1karkmann?
