New Wild Morph Snook Shoal

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The nassa wouldn't touch the pellets once they hit bottom either but they learned to, once stuff stops comming down they now look at the bottom and get any missed pellets. Seems that because of their peditory nature they look ahead or up for food as they seem to lurk below pery and strike either straight ahead or in and upward motion. Every once in a while I feed them an earthworm or shrimp and krill I love to watch them open up thier mouths and suck it in so fast it's barely visable. Sombody on here had a vidio I thought, titled Snook vs Pellets it was a couple of years ago. Maybe we can find it.

Has anyone seen an 18" snook before????

Never. That's why JK47 and I are hoping you'll hit the 18" SL mark with these guys. Or at least give us a more realistic max size.

Nice group.....They really look great when mature !

Oh I see, you know that could take a while.

Well what is the biggest (approximately) that you've seen?

True, but since all I'm sporting is a 20 long atm, I have to live vicariously through other people. And I've wanted green snooks ever since I first picked up that book and saw them.

The largest red bay snook I've seen was an 11" SL one we got in at the pet store I worked at. Back then no one used TL, so we never measured for that. I've never seen a green snook in person until just recently, babies at the LFS.

Great looking Shoal bud:) i cant wait to see them color up and start spawning. i had a small group awhile back but they didnt work out with my stock i was keeping so hopefully ill be able to try again down the road. you should see those guys eat live;) i dont aprove of live all the time but if its something youve spawned or quarentined then check it out once:)

So has anyone seen one larger than 14"? If not, I think I can at least get the record. I dunno about all this 18" talk, that might be too big for my tank. I'll be happy if they stop growing at like 14" maybe 15". But if they get to 18" so be it, at least they're not super aggressive. :D

FWP, I used to raise guppy and molly feeders for my jags. My daughter always got upset about that. Maybe she's toughened up some since then lol.

Nice group.....They really look great when mature !

They are aren't they? My lfs used to have a large pair in their showtank that was incredible. Since then they've always been on my gotta have it list.
