After looking more closely, im going to say the 2nd are definitely Trapajo's II's based on the slender build, and jaw/head structure. Looks like it is just going to start going through it's color changes here soon. Reason I say this is it is to slender to be a Cobra and different shaped then a Xingu I (pretty sure).

Also, im counting out Species atabapo based mostly on size and shape.....>Jaw and head would be much heavier looking, shorter and body would be more robust.

after looking at some tapajo's I have to agree thanks sicx

no doubt......Very nice pike still, those Trapajo's get very nice when mature....plus there sleek look is really predatory looking..

thanks Rob; how you been bro....How your pikes doin; any updates???

The second fish is lugubris sp. atabapo (red atabapo) ~ said the same thing in the previous Infinate Aquatics thread. No Tapajos have the black dorsal stripe, I would say your fish is a male. Don't worry bout his washed-out color - it may take a couple weeks before he settles in to his new tank....

We have a 13" male (have posted some pics of him before) + a female.

wow, i guessed that at first, but though the body shape was off. Looked like the snout was to long....I always seen the other Atabapo as having a stubbier snout with a wider looking scull.
thanks for clearing that up......Either way, NICE>

YEAH ~ both fish are NICE!!! I should clear up what I said in the previous post about no black in the dorsal of Tapajos Pikes - both our Tapajos I & II have some black edging and gray - but not like the dark black 1/4" or so stripe on top of an Atabapo's dorsal !
