New Wolf; ID?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
210g. Everything in the tank is as big or bigger than the Wolf, the smallest fish is my Brycon M. at 6". The Gold Wolves are 7" and 10" but i guess we will have to see.- they don't hang around for very long if something is close by.

Worst case scenario, I'll have to move things around and try and squeeze another tank in; just a touch infuriating as i sold off a load of stuff a few months ago. Dependant on the issues, it could be the Golds in their own tank or the Black. It would be awesome if they would all co-habit though...

We'll see; it could be absolutely fine and it could be disasterous but without trying it I guess I'll never know. In all honesty, the one I see causing the most problems is my Bichir as it will be occupying a the same areas as the Wolf but is 14-15" but being long and slender, it could go eitherway.

it could work...ive seen it done.
theyre not aimara after all.

order fell through. really annoyed- none of the UK stores got them in the end.

Need to wait for the next list now which is a few weeks away. Anyone in the UK know of any Black Wolves in free circulation?

There are non unfortunatly. I am trying to setup an import of an Aimara from a guy in Thailand who also has Black's. Would you be interested in a split shipping deal.

Dependant on price, definately.

I was conssidering asking Shark Aquarium and collecting from Gatwick as an option.

I've got one or two other ideas I am working on so we'll see if they pan out. WoW still has an Aimara on the list, as does Wildwoods.

right, well first order fell through BUT thanks yet again to Mr. Jelly, I have another source and another fish... Are we all in agreement on Curupira;

Ive been looking for a black wolf in the UK for a while now, my current wolf was sold as a Mala i still picked it up as it looks different in the length of its snout and the general colourings of the fish, but mala is a very wide group of fish not all yet classified.

Jelly/Mynhers - Ross (oddballexpress) has started up again and has asked for orders from Rapps. Might be worth looking into that route for an aimara? I can PM any details you guys need. Pick up would be from Staffordshire UK. I'm trying to convince Ross to become a vendor on here, im certain he would get some orders from us lot.

Glad to see we have our own little corner of the UK wolves keepers right here on MFK.

P.s. the above fish looks like Curupira to me. Fantastic that the fisherman took thoes pictures! You have the opportunity to trace the fish right to collection point? If i had such an opportunity id consider a fully blown biotope.... just with clearer water :)

I am looking for a few other Characins at the moment, though i am impressed with the current chaps responsiveness and helpfulness not to mention their direct relationship with the fishermen/fisheries in SA. I had always thought Oddball Express/Rapps specialised in Cichlids more than anything else but i'll certainly keep an eye out on the lists as they circulate.
