New years resolutions thread.

Another sugar addict here. I'm already a diabetic. I have the same resolution to minimize my sugar intake. I'm horrible with soda, cookies, cakes, and that's just the obvious stuff.
Rock, has the Pepe LA Pew family been back?

I too want to reduce my sugar intake as we all know it is not good for us! For me, I like to take baby steps and make accomplishable goals.

last year I use to drink one ice coffee and one energy drink a day, I cut out the energy drinks…in fact it’s been a whole year without one

this year I plan to cut out my daily iced coffee, if I could get this down to two ice coffees a week I think I would be happy! It’s literally just liquid sugar.

I also do get hankerings for sugary gummy candy and licorice candy

esoxlucius esoxlucius I'm on board!!! I'm not sure about complete abstinence though lol. Maybe your staying power might be better if you reduce your sugar intake but not cut it out. Lol, I'm just talking out of my arse here. Actually ime trying to quit cold turkey works better for me.

It was never my intention to go complete cold turkey on ALL sugar. That would be impossible, I'd have to starve to death to achieve that one because let's face it, "hidden" sugar is in almost everything. Lol.

No, my goal is to stop eating the junk that I will gorge on if I get the opportunity. I don't drink still or fizzy pop so I don't have those to worry about. My problem is cake, biscuits and toffees (I think candy is the US equivalent of our toffees).

I will be completely cutting ALL those things out of my diet. But sugar in tea and coffee, or on my porridge in the morning, I will carry on with, albeit at a reduced level.

Completely cutting out those things will reduce my sugar intake immeasurably, that is my goal. It is way more achievable and realistic than going the impossible route of the cold turkey method.

If I falter and slip into sweet oblivion, I will be very candid about it, there's no point in telling you guys I've achieved this or that, but still eating rubbish. That's just lying to myself and taking the pee out of anyone who's following.

Glad you're on board!

Well my resolutions have nothing to do with food.

I’m going to start skating again. I have only been on the board twice in the past 18 months.

I am going to get my hobby car approved by the department of motor vehicles and get it on the road legally. I am still on a temporary permit.

I am going to get my motorcycle back on the road as well. I just need to tear the clutch apart and refit it.

I’m going to start working on my dad’s old scout. Right now the engine has been frozen for about 30 years. It’s probably cracked but I have a another engine for it.

As far as I know I do not have diabetes. My mom had it and my sister has it and so does my brother-in-law.

Once in a while when I have symptoms of diabetes they will test me, but it’s always negative.

Anyhow, I don’t have any chronic health problems except for mild arthritis in the knees and hands.

I see 2022 will be busy as usual for you then ulu. You do realise than the common theme is to slow down and take it easy as you get older, lol.

I've used the excuse of injuring my AC joint (shoulder) two years ago as my reason for not going to the gym. It's about time that's changed! Lets get it!
