New years resolutions thread.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Haha are you suggesting these are not normal urges to have at 6:30am? I thought I was just self medicating with my ice coffee. I mean it was a pretty easy choice to make

I understand that viewpoint. When I'm at the jobsite, 6am sees me on a frozen shuttle bus taking me from camp to the worksite proper. Currently Covid has us limited to 11 people per bus, usually it's closer to 35 or 40. Every fist is clutching a litre-sized cup of hot coffee...very little is said...I shudder to think what the outcome would be if the kitchen ran out of coffee some morning. There would be blood...:)

Wow, I seem to recall an earlier exchange with that pain/pleasure theme, but I had no idea you were a dominatrix...

...well, actually, I kinda suspected, and now... :naughty:
Nah I’m just a bitter old lady embracing her cranky side

Yes, there's a pattern developing. First she was laughing at you freezing your nads off, and now her poor work colleague is in mortal danger. I reckon she has a "dark passenger", maybe like a female version of Dexter Morgan! Lol.
Hahah I like my co worker by about 9am and to be fair I hate everyone equally until then

That actually sounds worse than me having to drive with one person lol

if I were on your bus I would actually have my own coffe and a spare as a peace offering

Ha! During one of our ongoing verbal battles...all in good fun...a coworker referred to me as a "balding bitter b*****d". When I told my wife she said "That's ridiculous! You're not bitter!" :)

But you only hate everybody until 9am; I'm ready to shoot most folks I have to talk to until the bus is halfway back to camp at the end of shift! :)

I have a few things planned for 2022, my biggest one is getting a house and it’s looking like it will come to fruition sooner rather than later. I have a few things in mind I wish to obtain that I believe will help me advance with my goals. Hopefully 2022 will prove to be a better year for me personally than 2021 and I shall be able to post more often as I do miss the people here.

I am glad to see you are still around and doing well Hendre, I look forward to seeing how you progress with your goals for this year.
I'm currently looking at a house for sale and I'm really thinking about it. $100k, 2 bedroom 1 bathroooom, 1,075 square feet.

I'm still out of the hobby for the foreseeable future until I find my own house to settle down in for a while.

Oh Hendre Hendre how have you been?

Wow, where the hell you buying a house for $100k?!?!
I wish those home prices were where I lived haha

I’m also currently house shopping and may have found a nice place!
Good luck with your move and look forward to seeing you back in the hobby

Thanks for the update fishhead0103666 fishhead0103666 , hope things work out well for you so you can get back into it asap, and get back on the forum regularly again.

I'm glad you posted actually, I'd forgot about this thread that I started. I said I was going to visit it once in a while with a progress report on my new year's resolution.

I had a really sweet tooth and I vowed to stop eating chocolate, cakes, biscuits, toffees and ice cream etc to drastically reduce my sugar intake.

Up until about Easter time I was doing brilliantly. But I succumbed to half an Easter egg which my son was teasing me with, lol. No big deal in the overall scheme because it was just a blip.

Whereas once I couldn't pass the biscuit tin without helping myself, now I don't even think twice about any confectionary at all. My new year's resolution has been a huge success thus far.

Do I feel any better, any healthier, any fitter? No, I don't feel any different at all to be truthful, but I'm 100% certain than some good is being done somewhere.

Good to see you around still! That sounds like a good deal.

I have almost finished my degree, then honours next year. Hopefully can bring an aquarium with, they have been stuck at home for too long :D

Georgia is a *lot* cheaper than Canada. The average home price around me is about $150k for a good house in a good area and that can get you upto 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a high 1k square footage. I'm going in by myself so I'm sticking closer to $100k than $150k. I want to be back in the hobby so bad, I've seen *so* many fish I want that are coming onto the scene since I got out and Fugupuff is making it hard.

I am proud of you Esox, you're doing very good I see. The lack of sugar must be helping you in somewhere, I'm just taking a shot in the dark but I'd say your heart benefits from it. I'm not doing anywhere as near as good as you with my resolution but my work pants have become looser.

Eh, the price makes more sense when you take into consideration the location. Not the worst but not the best and that's for sure. Also there are gators in the pond nearby so....
Forgive me but could you remind me what your degree is going to be again? It's been a while haha. Man, I can only imagine how much you're craving a tank. If you can set up a tank next year then what are you thinking about stocking it with? I've been tossing around ideas of a smallish species tank for an uncommon betta species. Perhaps something like that tickles your fancy?
