  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That sounds much better. Once the EBJD'S are bigger and they are moved into a new 7x2x2 would I be able to add any GT'S or Salvini's ??

only if the EBJD's are bigger then the GT and salvini...

I would not plan on ever keeping green terrors or salvinis with EBJD if you want to keep your EBJD alive and healthy. As others have said, EBJD is not aggressive at all. I have kept them with larger tetras and angels without a problem. I am currently keeping two EBJD with a shoal of filamentosa barbs, rainbow cichlids, nanoluteus and a few smaller catfish in a 125. They have been together for almost a year without issue.

I wouldn't recommend doing the GT or salv with the EBJD. EBJDs are already weaker in general and prone to disease. I've had three and down to 1 from weakness. EBJDs are also slower growers than the normal JDs.

One thing you can consider is doing what I did... I have my EBJD stocked with clown loaches, gibby pleco, four gold severums, and a bgk. They're all perfectly fine together. It may also make a difference for you if you get them introduced at the same time assuming they aren't sick and same size if possible.

well I have orered some EBJD;S from a LFS and will be here next week. Going to leave them for a few weeks before I think about doing anything else. Ive ordered 4 to grow on and will keep the best 2 and sell 2 on once theyu have grown

Definitely would recommend taking your time picking out which ones you want to buy first. I've understood that they have a horrible success rate due to the genes being weak. Make sure you get the healthiest available. (I know that's obvious...duuuh. lol ) But don't get too excited about them finally arriving and just have to buy then! ;)

I think there was a time when we all had that happen to us...

I am currently raising a large EBJD with a small paratilapia polleni, 4 or 5 clown loaches, 2 redhead tapajos, and a small 3 inch EBJD. The only aggression I have seen is strangely from the large EBJD, but it isn't much. Just try to pick the most docile fish you can think of, which wont grow larger than the EBJD and you should be fine.

Dont put then in with anything that will out grow them. Or with anything similar color.

Just get like 10 ebjds toss then in the tank and enjoy. Get any community fish and toss them in.

Going to get 4 as long as they are all good.

Also what substrate ? I currently run crused coral so that will be replaced with sand ??

And filter media do any of you guys run anything funny or different in your externals?

Im running an fx5 on current set up ?
